Last day swimming?

This summer has been absolutley amazing! with a cold start in June, it completley changed in July and pretty much every day has been sunny and warm. And not just warm, it has been much hotter than it normally is here in Luleå. This afternoon we actually saw some Clouds for the first time in a while and later on we had some thunder and it also rained a bit. Really nice with some change and even though I love having warm weather I quite enjoy some cooler days as well.

This afternoon we spent at the local swimming pool together with some of Jakobs friends and later on Anna and Felicia! After going down the water slide about 100 times they had a short "fika" break and then played mini golf!

Felicia and Anna came home with us and had dinner and played and Viktor must have thought he was in heaven because the girls gave him lots of attention!

I was going to take a photo of Viktor hugging Anna but just as he was about to do it he lost his balance and fell backwards. Luckily I managed to take the photo and quickly catch him with one hand before hitting his head on the floor.

Klubbviken

Only 45 minutes boat ride from the city is Klubbviken with a nice beach, a restaurant and also cabins that you can hire for the night. The other day when the weather forecast promised sun and 30 degrees the boys spent the day out there together with Anders and the kids and mum. We had a great day in the sun!

An ice cream on the beach seems to be a must!

Viktor had a good afternoon sleep in the pram and mum sat in the shade and looked after him when I went swimming with the other kids!

Brändön

As a child I spent a lot of time in Karins parents cabin in Brändön and it is so fun to get to come back there now as a parent with my own children to hang out with Karin and her family. Last week we stayed there for one night and had an amazing time!

Isak and Viktor on their own privat beach.

Late dinner on the veranda!

Beautiful sunset!

We all had a night swim around 11pm!

Karin Reading to the kids before going to bed just before midnight!

I was the lucky one to have Viktor in the morning and of course he decided to wake up at 6am. With everyone else asleep around me I put him in the pram and went for a long morning walk together with a very large number of mosqitos that decided to join the walk with us. I nearlly paniced for a while but after putting a jumper over my head it felt better. After the walk and some breakfast Viktor was back in bed again and everyone else was awake and ready to jump in the water again.

Adam went home with Viktor after his morning sleep but I stayed with Jakob and Isak for a few more hours. Karins brother with his wife and 3 children came so there were lots of kids playing together. I haven't seen them for many years so it was nice to catch up and see their children live!

Johan took Jakob sailing!

Jakob looking after Viktor

Jakob is a wonderful big brother and just adores his youngest brother. He was been telling me that he would like to look after Viktor by himself for a whole day (only with some help changing nappies and fixing food). On night we decided that tomorrow will be the day.

It started well with Jakob helping to change his nappy, chosing clothes for him and dressing him, feeding him his morning porridge and playing with him. But after about an hour he started asking when it was time for Viktor to go to bed again and not long after he told me he just couldn't do it anymore. Oh well, at least he tried and over all he helps me so much with Viktor all the time that I can't complain. He can pick him up from his cot and carry him downstairs all by himself and often when they are outside playing he looks after him and makes sure he doesn't leave the backyard.

The beach

When summer finally came to Luleå I didn't think I would be able to go to the beach as much as I had. With 3 kids by myself and Viktor not walking yet I just thought ti would be a mission impossible. Anyway, I tried and it went better than I thought and as long as I go together with someone else.

Tjuvholmssundet together with an old work friend of mine and her Twins.

Viktor was as always very active and didn't sit still for more than a minute at the time.

He is just not scared of anything (just like his big brother in the background...)

The boys having a well deserved break after playing and swimming. The mother would have needed one too I think :-)

Sleep over

Last night Jakob had a friend over for the night for the first time. All boys were very excited and it went really well. They played soccer together, played games, had a bath and finished the evning by watching the start of the soccer eating popcorn and chips.

Brändön

A week ago Karin, Vincent, Anna and Felicia arrived from France and one day I took the kids to Brändön to spend the afternoon with them.

The temperature in the water was 24 degrees so Anneli took care of Viktor while I had a swim with all the big children.

Fishing

After a nice dinner at Zara and Mickes cabin the boys did some fishing in the beautiful evening sun before driving back to Luleå again.

Summer

After a cold start of the summer the heat came only a few days before Jane and John left. We have been to the beach, to an outdoor swimming pool, to friends cabins, to the city and played a lot at home in the backyard.

Vilmer doing his best to keep up with the big boys!

Åsa, Maggi and Vilmer visiting!

Viktor 1!

Here are some photos from Viktor's 1st birthday!

Midsummer!

Midsummer this year was pretty cold but that didn't stop me, Jane, Jakob and Isak from going to Hängnan. The kids really like it and so do I!

Zara and the family came over for dinner, drinks, games etc and he had a really nice night. One of the highlights was Zara's Rainbow cake. Very impressive!

Sport lover

Jakob just loves sport. In summer it is all about soccer and in winter he plays floor ball and ice hockey. This season he has played his first soccer matches and it has been great to watch him.

They take turns being the goal keeper.

Fruitsallad

In Sweden many children get to have lollies on Saturdays, we call it "Saturday lollies". One day I suggested to the kids that instead of having Saturday lollies, we could go to the shop, they would get to pick any fruit they want, and we would all together cut up a big fruitsallad. I was really surprised when the kids said YES straight away. We started with a month and after that they asked for another month.

Freja visitning

Every summer our neighbours cousin Freja comes to visit and Jakob and Freja love hanging out. We hope whe will come back soon again.

Isak

In the beginning of May Isak had a fall when running to the bathroom in the evening before going to bed. He fell on his elbow and it turned out that it was broken. We spent many hours that evening at the hospital before we got home just after midnight with a tired boy with a plaster on his left arm.

After a day or two to get used to the plaster Isak could live a pretty normal life and learnt to do almost everything using the right arm and after a while also the left arm. He never complained and did well every time we had to go to the doctor. After nearly 5 weeks we went to take the plaster off and even though he was a bit scared and worried to move his arm straight after he was convinced that he wanted to go to dagis. WHen we picked him up later that day he was using his arm as normal again!

Jakob's last day of school!

So Jakob finally finished his first year at school! he has loved every day of it and learnt a lot and grown a lot in every way. We are so proud of him.

The day Before the last day the parents were invited to listen to the children sing. Jakob has practiced a lot at home so it was fun to see them all singing together!

Next day we went to the church to watch the more official celebrations. I got there a bit early by car and waited for all the children who walked from the school to the Church.

Jane and John also came walking with Viktor in the pram.

Viktor was a bit hard work in the Church but lots of hands to hold him made it a bit easier.

The final song in the Church was sung by all the Children up to year 3 and the ones sitting down stood up in their benches and turned around to face the audience and sang a Beautiful song to all the visitors in the Church.
