Cuddling in bed

Normally I have a quite good bedtime routine when I am home alone with the boys. I change Jakob in to his pyjamas and get him to wash his face and hands, and brush his teeth before I put Isak to bed. Jakob then watches tv when I feed Isak in the bedroom and after that I take Jakob to bed. I have to say that Jakob has been great with the whole feeding Isak thing. Over the last few weeks Isak has started to be nearly impossible to feed if someone else is in the room so when I am at home I always go in to the bedroom and sit by myself. Jakob understands and is ok with it most of the time. Sometimes he comes in very quietly and wants to say something but it normally happens at the end of the feed and doesn't really matter.

Tonight Jakob was exremly tired and wanted to go to bed before Isak, but also wanted Isak to come to bed with him for a little while. I thought Isak would hate it but he looked so happy next to Jakob in bed. After only a few seconds Jakob had had enough and told me to pick him up and take him out so he could sleep.
This week is Jakob's last week at dagis before he has 5 weeks "holidays". Should be really fun but I am also a bit worried about how to keep Jakob entertained by myself for that long since Adam will be working a lot. I am sure we will be ok, I just need to start preparing myself for it and come up with fun things to do. So anyone who wants to visit or has a fun activity to do, just give us a ring!!

Isak, Isak and more Isak

I took so many photos of Isak tonight and it was so hard to pick out the best ones. He is just so cute and happy, I hope he will keep this presonality for the rest of his life :-)

Playing with Filippa

Jakob had a great day at dagis today but was extremly tired when he came home. Our neighbour's grandchild Filippa saved the night by knocking on the door around 4pm wanting to play with Jakob. They played really well together for an hour or so but after she left and after dinner I had to use all my patience to keep Jakob in a good mood.

Isak

Isak is doing well. The night before last night he had his best night ever! went to bed at 7 as usual and had his first and only feed at 4.30!! after that he slept until 8.20, not bad!

Last night was more normal. I fed him at 2.30 and just before 6am and after that he went back to sleep until nearly 8am. Jakob fell out of bed last night around 3.30 and also needed to go to the toilet but went back to sleep easily after.

Next appointment with the midwife/nurse is 12 July and it will be interesting to see how much he has grown. I still only breastfeed him but will introduce solids around 6 months if it continues to go well with just milk.

Zara and I

Micke took some photos of Zara and I today when we also had a go at one of the rides at the tivoli. I haven't done it for SO long but used to love it as a child. It was really really fun!!

After the tivoli...

...we went in to the city to have a look in some shops but of course everything was closed. Instead we had lunch (and ice cream) at Max.
Jakob's feet at the end of the day....
After a couple of really fun days Jakob was exhausted (Adam and I too) and went to bed early. He is also coughing again and has a runny nose. Hope he will have a good sleep tonight and wake up feeling better tomorrow so that we can go to Alice's birthday party.

Tivoli

Not sure what the English word for this sort of place is and Adam can't help me so I will use the Swedish word tivoli and from the pictures I think you can work out what it is.
Zara and the family were going to the tivoli today and I managed to talk a very sceptical Adam in to joining them. Jakob who has always been scared of these sort of rides was very quiet to start with and did not want to have a go. A few minutes later when he saw that Finn was actually going to do it, and also Tuva and Eddie from Jakob's dagis, he all of a sudden changed his mind and wanted to try. After having tried the fear was gone and him and Finn had a go by themselves at a few different ones, I was so impressed!!

This was the favourite and they seemed to think that they were actually driving the cars.

Proud and happy parents, even Adam had a great time :-)

Tivoli boys!

Isak chilled in the pram and went to sleep after a while.

The morning after...

Jakob and Isak woke up at about 7 am this morning and Finn slept til 9!! The morning was warm and sunny so we had breakfast outside.

Nice to wake up having friends in the house!

Swedish Midsummer Party!

When I was younger I often organised parties for friends at my parents place and also in the small apartment I lived in in the city for many years. The last big party was probably when I turned 30 and Stina and I had a joint birthday party with lots of people and lots of fun. Anyway, I am not much of a party freak anymore but this year Adam and I decided to have some friends over for a Midsummer party. We started at 3pm with some finger food on the veranda at the back of our house. The weather was absolutley perfect!!
Sigrid and her Vina who is a cutie!

Per and Meja who just turned 1 the other week.

Zara and Lykke who also stayed over at our place.

After some snacks children and parents played soccer at the back of our house. Great fun!

I love Isak's hairstyle!

The boys having an early dinner by themselves. The rest of us waited until the little ones had gone to bed.

Relaxing for a few minutes in between playing and running.

We finally made up our mind and decided to eat at the front where we had some evening sun. It worked really well to just move the big table to the front and we all just fit.

The kids had ice cream and strawberries inside when we started eating our dinner.

Potatoe bake, potatoes sallad, melon sallad, mixed grill (beef fillet, chicken, and pork fillet) was parts of the yummy dinner that we had.

Cheers!

Zara had made an amazing strawberry cake! there was some left overs that we had for breakfast this morning.

The kids didn't make too much of a mess when we left them having ice cream by themselves.

Overall the day went really well I think and the children seemed to have great fun. As always Liam and Elvin played together and Jakob and Finn played together but sometimes we found them doing something together the 4 of them (even though I think it was mainly Finn and Jakob wanting to hang out with the big boys).

Zara and the family had a sleep over at our place but everyone else went home around 10-10.30 I think it was.
After that we had some very tired boys on the couch just before bedtime. I was cleaning up in the kitchen and could hear Jakob saying to Finn, don't go to sleep!!! and to Micke, can you read it just one more time!

Adam fell asleep with Jakob around 11pm and Zara, Micke and I stayed up a bit longer talking and eating lollies.
Isak slept from about 7.30 to nearly 4am, a new record! I am so happy he slept through all the noise in the evening, I thought he would wake up a few times since his bed is sort of in the middle of all the action.

Midsummer morning!

Midsummer Eve is one of the highlights of the year and something I always liked celebrating when I grew up. We started the morning by going to Hägnan for some traditional celebrations (even though we left before the singing and dancing started). Anders and his family was there and also mum.

Jakob doesn't seem to be scared of riding anymore and had a go on Felix.
After having had a look at all the animals, had something to eat and enjoyed the atmosphere for a while we left to go home and start preparing for the party at our place.

Before and after

Today I finally went to the hairdresser! haven't been for about 10 months and nearly two years since I dyed it. The hairdresser was really excited to get to work with such an "untouched" hair, as she described it. This was taken just before I did it at my parents place. Mum and dad looked after Isak for me.

As you can see my hair is quite a lot shorter and she put some blonde highlights in it. I really wanted a change so I am very happy! Isak will need a haircut soon too... Most of his hair on the side and at the back has rubbed off but it is really long on top of his head.
Tonight we have made some preparations for tomorrows big party. We are celebrating Midsummer Eve at our place together with 3 other couples with 2 kids each.

Another week!

The weekend went fast and it is already Tuesday. Adam worked all weekend but is having 3 or maybe even 4 days off later this week!!! Sunday I took the kids to mum and dad for a couple of hours in the middle of they day but felt tired and didn't have much energy to do anything else. Yesterday the 3 of us went in to the library in the city and met up with Maria and her kids. Jakob and Alice had fun running around as always but they actually sat down for about 10 minutes to let me read a book to them. After the library we had lunch at Mat och Prat. They have a play section for children so that worked well. Tuesday today and Jakob has been at dagis for 5 hours. This photo was taken just before we left this morning. Jakob knows exactly what he wants to wear and right now the sun glasses are very important, no matter if it is a sunny day or not. The image is important and he talks a lot about being "cool". I spent pretty much the whole day cleaning and cooking and washing. Feels like that's all I do when I am at home sometimes.
When Jakob came home he played with Isak for a bit (Isak rolled over to his belly yesterday for the first time!) and when Isak had his afternoon sleep Jakob and I went outside to play.

These trees are at the front of the house and I think they look so beautiful, not sure what they are called.

Some of all my flowers and plants are actually still alive. This one has recovered after having looked pretty tired the last week or so.

If we get some sun in the next few days these will probably get some more flowers.
