2013

First day of the new year was a very quite day for all of us. Jakob stayed in his pyjama all day long and we didn't leave the house. I played a bit with my new laptop, Adam cooked a very nice lunch, I made a cake and Jens came over for a "fika" in the afternoon. I don't Think I have relaxed as much as I have done the last couple of weeks ever in my life!

Oh well, feels like this year will be a busy year so a few quiet weeks probably won't hurt. Tomorrow I am back at work again but Adam will be home with the kids until they start dagis again next Monday!

Different New Years Eve

Last year Adam was sick on New Years Eve and I ended up having dinner with the kids with mum. It was a really nice evening even though I was a bit disappointed to miss a big party. This year both of us felt like having a quite New Years Eve all by ourselves. In the morning we decided to go to Storklinten for the seasons first day of skiing! I expected the weather to be quite bad but even though it might not look so good it was great. -1 and no wind or snow (started snowing a Little at the end of the day).

Getting all the gear ready!

Isak and I spent most of the day going up with the band, and down on the bob. Most of the times him by himself on the bob and me walking down but sometimes both of us on the bob.

Isak loved it and apart from a one hour lunch break he kept on doing the same thing for 5 hours with a big smile on his face. I was very impressed!

Anders, Helena with kids and Helena's parents and sister with family were also there. Lucas did very well skiing and I have to say Isak and Lucas look quite similar in these photos.

Lunchbreak in the restaurant... nice with a break in the middle of the day and the kids must have been hungry because they ate everything on their plates and some of my food as well.

It took Jakob some time to get back in to skiing. He was lacking a bit of confidence and a few falls don't help. The good thing is that he kept trying and didn't give up and I think he enjoyed it.

At the end of the day I also got to ski a bit. First with Jakob but also a couple of runs by myself. It was Amazing and I will really miss not being able to ski so much this season! hopefully I can do it a few more times before I get to big...

When we got home we were all very tired and our plans to go out for dinner, got changed to getting take away, which we changed to rice porridge for the kids and lollies for us adults. A very different but in the end a very nice New Years Eve. And no, I didn't make it until midnight :-)

A tractor!

Isak looooves tractors! here he is watching one clearing the snow from the neighbours driveway.

Potty training

A few days ago we decided to start Isak on potty training. With Jakob it went very easily. We started quite late (he was nearly 3) and just told him one day that we were going to stop with nappies. Within a few days he was completley out of nappies even at night time, with very few accidents.

I have Always had a feeling it would be harder with Isak, he has been later than Jakob with pretty much everything. Christmas time is a good time to start though when they are off dagis for a few weeks, so we did it the same way as Jakob, just told Isak from one day to another that he should start using the potty. As soon as we took the nappy of the first time he went over to the potty, sat down and did a wee and a poo and was extremly happy and proud with himself. So were we... After that we have had a few accidents but every day is getting better and better. Last night he even had a dry nappy in the morning so tonight we put him to bed without a nappy. I doubt he will stay dry all night but we thought it was worth trying. If it doesn't work we just put the nappy back on him at night until he seems ready.

Surprise!

The day before New Years Eve we all went skating. It Went really well, even for me and I didn't feel very pregnant when chasing Jakob around in the ice arena, even though my legs were a bit tired at the end of it. Isak was a bit hesitant in the beginning and wanted to sit on the bench and Watch, but after a while he started trying and did really well! he managed to move forward all by himself, wouldn't quite call it skating but if he keeps trying like that I am sure it won't take very long before he can do it.
After a long lunch at Mc Donalds we picked up a parcel from Coop and went home. Jakob and Isak got Christmas presents all the way from France and was very happy about such a surprise a few days after Christmas.

Dinner with friends

Christmas holiday for kids and adults means lots of family time and also time with friends. Zara, Micke and the kids came over for dinner a few Days ago...

It is working
quite well with a separate kids and parents table...

During dinner and at the end of the night are normally the only time to catch all of the Children on one photo at the same time.
