Lots of lambs!

Åsa took us down to where the sheep are kept to see some of the newborn lambs. Jakob was a bit scared in the beginning and wanted to be carried by daddy.
After a while he was happy to get down as long as he got to hold Moa's hand.

He felt even better when he got to hold mormors hand too.

Finally he wasn't very scared anymore and tried to pat one of the lambs when it was running past.

Elvin's birthday party

Saturday morning we took Jakob for a walk in the pram in to the city. He was quite unahppy when we got there, I think he was a bit cold, but his mood picked up after a while and he fell asleep in the pram on the way home.
In the afternoon we went to Elvin's birthday party. There were about 6 kids there in various ages and even though Jakob had a great time I think he was a bit disappointed that he didn't get to have Elvin to himself.
In the photo Sigrid is helping Jakob to fish for a bag of goodies. He loved it.

Jakob was so proud of himself when he got his bag. On top of that, all the kids were leaving and since Jakob was the last one to leave he had about 20 min playtime with Elvin on his own. He did everything Elvin did, laughed when he laughed, jumped when he jumped, and run after him the whole time. It was a happy but tired boy that we brought home that night.

A bit sick

The week has been good but we have all been very busy. I have been starting work about 5.30 in the morning a few days, Adam has been busy with Swedish lessons and work, and Jakob has been a bit sick the last couple of days. He had a good start of the week, on Monday he didn't want to come home from child care at all. The kids were playing outside when I came to pick him up and he just said JoJo skotta snö! which means Jakob shovel snow.
Today he spent the whole day with mormor and morfar so that Adam and I could work. Thank you so much! As always Jakob had a great day and they took him out for lunch and also went shopping. He still has a runny nose but seems happy and has no temperature.
The other day when Adam and I sat in the kitchen Jakob came in with my ear plugs in his ears. I keep them next to my bed and he must have seen me using them. He looked so funny with them in his ears.

Another day with Alice

Last Sunday we went to Leos's again, for the second weekend in a row. Jakob really likes it there and so do Adam and I. This time we met up with Alice and Maria and Andreas, and also an Irish guy from Adam's Swedish course and his family.
Jakob and Alice were really happy to see each other and when they first met in the car park they ran towards each other and hugged and kissed. As son as they got inside Alice took off and wasn't really so interested in Jakob any more but at the end of the day when they were quite tired they had a cuddle and a kiss.

Both Alice and Jakob loved being in front of the camera and kept posing when I asked them to.

Saturday night

Adam had a boys dinner tonight so after the basket ball game Maria and Andreas invited me to come to their place for dinner. The kids made a great mess of Alice room as you can see, but had fun as always. Jakob loved the dinner and wanted more after he had finished a big serve of chicken with pasta. We got home just before home and after reading a book Jakob ran to bed exhausted after a long fun day!

Basketball

This afternoon Jakob went to his first basketball game ever. I used to watch a lot of basketball before I moved to Australia but this was the first game for me since I moved back.
At first I think Jakob was in a bit of a chock, he just sat on the chair and starred at the game.

At the break Jakob and Alice went crazy and danced, jumped and screamed. They were so cute.

After the break Jakob got in to the basket ball a bit more and clapped his hand and looked for the ball. About 20 minutes before the end he started getting really bored and we spent the end running around chasing each other and walking up and down the stairs. Adam was also there watching the game with our friend Jocke.

Jakob's first ever haircut!!!

Today my auntie Maggie came over to give Jakob his first haircut. I have prepared him the last couple of days by telling him how Maggi is going to cut his hair, and I have pretended to cut with my fingers etc. He seemed to be ok with the whole thing, but I was still a bit nervous that he wouldn't let her do it. Luckily it went really well. He sat in his highchair in front of the tv the whole time.
I think he actually liked it. Tonight he even said to me "Maggi more cut hair".

He thought it was really funny when the hair fell down on the tray in front of him.

Almost done and Jakob and Maggi both did a great job!

After the haircut Jakob and Maggi were best friends and had a snack together on the couch. Thanks a lot for your help Maggi!!!

Jakob and Alice

This morning Adam had to go to a meeting in Kalix so he left at 9. Maria and Alice came to visit and as always the kids had a lot of fun together. They couldn't stop hugging each other when sitting next to each other at the kitchen table.

After something to eat they started running around and also played some music and danced together.

Alice even got to have a ride on Jakob's tractor.

Fun with Moa

This photo was taken earlier in the week when Anders and Moa came to visit one night when I was in Södertälje. Check out Jakob's hair and compare with the photos after his haircut!

New bed

Last night I took a photo of Jakob when he was asleep in his new bed. He looks pretty relaxed...

The week...

Another working week is gone, I can't believe how fast time is going by. I had a course at Scania (the owner of Ferruform that I am working for) in the middle of the week so I left straight from work Wednesday afternoon and didn't get home until late Thursday night. The course was good and it is always fun to go away and me and the girl I travelled with even got a couple of hours in Stockholm last night before we had to go to the airport.

Jakob is doing really well. He is going through a very happy easy going stage at the moment. The only negative is that he often wakes up between 5.30-6.00 which is a bit early for my liking. The other morning he slept until 7.30 though so you never know.

Jakob's move in to his new bed has been going really well. He runs in to his room in the evening, jumps in to his bed and tells me to sing a lullaby. After that he tells me to leave, and that's it. I am just waiting for the day when he realises that he can actually get up, turn the light on and start playing if he doesn't feel like sleeping...

He wants to do everything himself now. He drags a little chair around everywhere in the house so that he can use it to climb up on things, in to his highchair, on to the changin table etc. He even climbs in to the car seat himself. He tries to put all his clothes on himself and he takes them off. He puts the butter on his sandwich himself, and he clears the table after he finished a meal himself. Hope this urge to help and do things himself stays...

Today I picked him up from child care and we went to mormor and morfars to have dinner and to let Jakob have a bath. After the bath he had a cuddle with morfar and watched Pingu before we headed home to bed.

Sunday afternoon in the snow!

Today we spent the afternoon at Udden having fun in the big slide made by ice that is created every year. Udden is a really nice plance close to the city with a nice beach where you can go swimming in the summer. It is a bit hard to believe that all this snow will be gone in only a few months.
It was my cousin Andreas and his girlfriend Karin who suggested to go there, and my brother Anders and Moa also came for a while. The kids had so much fun and kept saying more more almost before they got to the end of the slide.

I think Adam beat all the records when it comes to speed. They were just flying down!!

Adam got SO many bruises today and I think he will be very sore tomorrow after running up and down the slide with Jakob.

Moa and Anders. We have to buy a helmet like the one Moa has so that we can let Jakob go on his own.

Moa was so brave and tough the whole time, she loved it!

Andreas and Moa

Fika!

After playing hard in the snow we gave the kids some well deserved fruit and juice.

After nearly 2 hours in the snow we were all very tired and a bit hungry so we went to Karin and Andrea's place for some fika. I thought Jakob would be tired and relaxed but he didn't sit still for more than a couple of seconds at the time (enough to get a photo of him). He is a freak!
He kept playing hard when we got home but once we started to get ready for bed he got really tired and it didn't take him long to fall asleep.

Leos!

Jakob's first night in a big bed went really well. I could hear him rolling around hitting his head on the wall in the evening so I went in there at night to put some pillows along the wall. He slept until 6.45 this morning so the first night in his new bed was a success!
Adam had a sleep in and Jakob and I had a nice morning together. When Adam got up we decided to go to Leos Playground. It is a great place for both adults and kids and Jakob loves going there. I don't know where he gets his energy from but he never seems to get tired. Adam and I took turn running after him and we were both exhausted. When we were leaving Jakob fell asleep in the car and Adam and I parked the car next to a fast food place so that we could get some lunch when Jakob was asleep.

Saturday night

Today Jakob and I had the night to ourselves. We spent a lot of time on the couch reading and singing songs. He is so much in to singing right now and the last few days he has been trying to sing himself. It sounds really cute. When I change him before bedtime we always talk about what he is going to tell the koala and pingu when he gets in to bed and lately I have told him to sing to them. Every night when I have put him to bed now I can hear him singing to his koala and pingu. I can also hear him talking to them about his day and what he has been up to.
Today was actually a big day because Jakob is sleeping in his big bed for the first time. He has been sleeping in a porta cot and we haven't had any problems with that, in fact I think he has really liked it. Anyway we thought it was time to move him in to a big bed and tonight was the first night. He ran in to his room and jumped in to bed, hugged his koala and pingu and seemed quite happy. When I left the room he called for me, without crying, so I went in there and sang him one song and left again, and after that he went to sleep. So far so good. Will be interesting to see if he gets up at night and what time he will come out tomorrow morning. Jakob's new bed was a birthday present from grandma and poppa in Australia, thank you very much!

Mormor and morfar

In the afternoon I went to the stables to jump the horse that I have been riding since I got back to Sweden. I haven't jumped for 3 years now and was actually a bit nervous before I started. Anyway, it went really well and was so much fun!! I realise now how much I have missed it. When I came home Jakob was asleep but as soon as he woke up I drove Adam to a party in the city that he was invited to. At the same time mormor and morfar called and wanted to come and see Jakob. Jakob got really excited when I told him that mormor and morfar were coming. They brought a present for him today, a book about a man and his 4 goats.
After playing a bit I cooked a very simple dinner for us and as always Jakob ate a lot.

Early morning

This last week Jakob has started to wake up really early in the morning. This morning he woke up not long after 5 but he was happy and didn't seem to understand that we wanted to sleep. I read to him for about half an hour and went back to sleep while Adam took him until 8. When I got up I suggested that we would go out and play and Jakob got SO excited and wanted to go out and shovel some snow. All of us went out and he did some shoveling until Adam and I set up a little slope outside our house where he could slide down on his bob and pulka. He loved it!

Jakob noticed that the quickest way to get back up on the slope was to shout "daddy bära" which means "daddy carry" so Adam had carry Jakob and the bob up about 100 times.

Adam had a go too...

After some playing Jakob just took his bob, said good bye to me and Adam and started walking down the road. Not sure where he was going...

First pictures of Lucas!

Today we went to meet Jakob's new cousin Lucas for the first time. Jakob was so excited in the car on the way to their house and talked about Lucas and that he used to be in Helenas belly. Moa was very proud of her brother and kept saying "I am a big sister now"!

Jakob wanted to be next to the baby a lot in the beginning but after a while he realised that Lucas wasn't much fun to play with so he started chasing Moa around the house instead.

We all had some take away food for dinner and after I had finished my meal I walked around with Lucas in my arms for a bit. He is so cute and tiny. He fell asleep in my arms after a while and I put him down in a carseat just before we left. Doesn't he look cute in this photo?

A baby boy - a new cousin!

This morning Helena gave birth to a healthy baby boy who is going to be called Lukas. He weighed nearly 3.2 kilos and was 49 cm long. The birth was very quick and very dramatic but everything went well in the end.
Helena woke up around 4 this morning with some light contractions. 7.40 the baby was born. At home. In the hallway. They never made it to the hospital. At 7 my brother Anders called the ambulance and also my parents to get them to come and take care of Moa. By the time everyone got there, Helena was ready to birth and only a couple of minutes later it was all over. Moa got to see it all and was so brave and happy for her new brother. She kept saying that the baby came out from mammas belly.
After the birth Helena, Anders and the baby went straight to the hospital and mum and dad took Moa to child care a couple of hours later. In the evening Adam, Jakob and I celebrated with mum and dad and Moa with pizza that we have a new addition to the family.
Pictures will follow later.
