Neigbours cousins

Last week our neigbours across the road had their cousins who live in Abu Dhabi over to stay for a few days. Jakob played with them a couple of times and as always he really likes playing with older girls. The younger one, Freja who was 4 was not so interesting to Jakob. He only wanted to play with Thea who was 8. She really liked Isak and spent the whole time holding him and making him smile.

Dinner on the beach

Last week we decided to have take away dinner on the beach one night when Adam finished work early. It was a beautiful calm and sunny evening and we all had a really nice time together.

Jakob was in a very good mood and played in the sand and the water for hours.

Tivoli

Last week there was a big festival in the city so I took Isak and Jakob to the tivoli one day. Mum joined us as well and also Maggi. Jakob loves all the different rides!

This one that goes up in the air we had a go at together, the view was really nice from up there.
We could even see mum and Maggi on the ground.

Very happy and excited Jakob.

Uni friends

Last week I met up with some people that I went to university with. Jocke in the middle of the picture worked on lots of projects together with Maria and I. Jocke now lives in Gothenburg but was in Luleå to visit his dad. Björn lives in Luleå and we bump in to each other in the city sometimes.

Tuesday

Jakob was very excited this morning when he found out that Adam had started filling up the sand box with some sand. He played for quite a long time all by himself this morning with his new toys. After lunch we went to visit Samuel and his parents who live on our street. They had fun together and as always Jakob loves to play with other childrens toys.

Mormor and morfar came over later in the afternoon to have dinner and of course Jakob took mormor out to the sand box to play.
Jakob ate a massive amount of food and had SO much energy after dinner. Mum took him for a bike ride around the block while cleaned up and spent some time with dad.

Jakob wanted to have a go driving the car when mum and dad were about to leave. Just after they left he ran over to the neighbours across the street and found out that they have a trampoline in the backyard. They told him to come and have a try and it was nearly impossible to get him to come home with me. Before he closed his eyes tonight he said that he wants to go back there tomorrow.

New week!

Yesterday we had a quiet morning at home and Isak had a 3 hours sleep between 9 and 12 in the morning. I am still feeding him 2 times a night but I am trying to get him to go back to sleep without feeding especially if he wakes up around midnight. It has worked a few times to just leave him when I hear that he wakes up and often he goes back to sleep after a little cry. He loves sucking on his two middle fingers, it looks really funny and I would like to know what made him chose those two fingers, and not the others. In the afternoon we went to mum and dad for a couple of hours but went home before dinner.

After Isak and Jakob had gone to sleep and Adam was home I went grocery shopping and also bought some toys for the sand box. The other thing I bought was a life vest! Finally we have one of our own and I dont have to worry about boat trips or Jakob running around close to deep water.
Adam had brought a trailer full of sand from Kalix so he was moving it all to the sand pit all evening. Wile he was doing that Karin from France came over for a quick visit. Karin is my old best friend who is like a sister to me. We have known each other since we were two but she now lives in France and is only here to visit. She came by herself last night just to say hello, see the house and have quick chat before they go to their summer house for a few days. Next week we will hopefully spend lots more time together.

Sunday night bbq

Sunday night we were invited to my brothers place for a bbq together with Helenas sister with her family, Helenas parents and also mum and dad. The evening was beautiful and the kids played outside most of the night.

Jakob really liked the trampoline, I think we will buy one for Jakob and Isak next summer.
Moa who turns 4 in only a couple of weeks!

Dinner

We all had a very nice bbq dinner and the only time throughout the night when the kids were quiet was when they were eating something.
Isak was very relaxed and spent a lot of time in the pram just watching the party happening around him.

When he wasnt in the pram he played with mormor....

...or with cousin Lucas and uncle Anders...

or just had cuddle with whoever was interested.

Late night

Jakob loved playing with Filip who is 2 years older than Jakob. They had great fun all night running around the house about 200 times.

We ended up staying until nearly 10.30 and by the time we got home Jakob was very tired. Here Helenas mum Birgitta is reading a book to some of the children.

Sunday

After a big day Saturday we were all tired on Sunday. Took it very easy in the morning and I had a long sleep in and Adam also had a sleep after me. In the afternoon Adam took Jakob and Isak out shopping for the first time by himself. He did really well and even managed changing a poo nappy in the back of the car. Good practice for Adam who hasnt spent much time with Isak this summer because of his work load.
I was home cleaning while the boys were out. It is SO easy to clean when there is nobody at home but unfortunatley it doesnt make it any more fun.

Big day!

After lots of thinking, talking and research we finally got on to building a sand box for Jakob and Isak. I have felt for a long time that we havent got enough things to do for Jakob in the backyard and with me being home with the children by myself so much when Adam is busy at work I have felt that we need somthing more. Since all the sand boxes you can buy in the stores are so small, we decided to build our own. Micke very kindly offered to help us and he also had all the tools that we needed. Adam started in the morning by digging the hole for the sand pit.

A bit later he picked up Micke and they went to buy all the wood and other bits and pieces that were needed. I was home with the children and had lunch ready for them before they started. I was actually a bit jealous of the guys who got to do the building, but of course I know that it was really hard work, and raining parts of the day on top of that.

Playing

Keeping Jakob and Finn happy throughout the day was a challenge. At times they were playing great together and at times we had to help them to sort out a problem like Who had the toy first or who pushed who.
Jakob really likes both Zara and Micke and takes any opportunity to get a cuddle. When he is in the mood for it...

Playing with water, a game that we ended before we had water all over the floor.

Drawing was fun for about 5 minutes.

Finn and Jakob trying to help the dads figure out how to build the sand box.

Hard working boys!

The wood is starting to look like a sand box!

The box put in place, now there is only a few adjustments that need to me made.
A couple of times Zara and I were struggling to keep Jakob and Finn happy and entertained so later in the day we took them for a walk around the block. They went crazy jumping in puddles, running, playing in the playground and had lots of fun.

Back again at the house the boys started playing inside the box and didnt seem to mind not having any sand there.

A very muddy and dirty Jakob who has just finished playing outside.

Late night

Adam and Micke kept working when we went inside to try to get the children to bed. Isak and Lykke went down not much after 7 but Jakob and Finn took much longer to start relaxgin.

Finally relaxing on the couch. Finn fell asleep not long after.

If you look closely you can see Finn's legs on the top bed. This was the first time Jakob had a friend sleeping there.

All children in bed, the sand box finished, the boys having had a sauna and Adam had cooked a delicious lamb dish. Just after 11pm we were ready to have dinner!
It was nearly 1am in the morning when we finally went to bed after a very fun day!

Friday together

Last Friday Adam had most of the day off. In the afternoon we all went in to the city and bought some childrens clothes on sales and had a coffee with Carina and Andreas. Adam was looking for clothes in one of his favourite shops and Jakob was going crazy running between the cafe and Adam in the shop. Not a very relaxing experience, but still fun. After that we went to mum and dad for dinner.

Isak very pleased with himself sitting on the couch.

Jakob having a bath.
