The yearly ski trip!

For the fourth year in a row we, together with 5 other families, went on a ski trip together. This is a highlight of the year and I think and hope that the kids will look back at these trips with happy memories when they get older.

This year we went to Storklinten and left after lunch on Thursday and stayed until Sunday.  

 

 

The first day was very quiet with a Little bit of playing outside in the snow, and lots of playing in the cabin and just enjoying the views.

I somehow managed to miss saving the pics from day 2 on the memory stick when moving them from the other laptop (still haven't worked out how to download photos from the camera to my new laptop) so I quickly go from day 1 to day 3. When we booked this trip I didn't Think I would be able to do any skiing at all at week 34+ a few Days but I was very wrong. Every morning Jakob and I did some skiing together and I also got to do quite a few runs by myself. Skiing wasn't hard at all, it was only the taking on and off boots, pulling kids and lifting up Crying kids at times etc that was hard. Every day after lunch I also had a sleep together with Isak which was nice and necessary for me I Think.

 

Cooking lunch on an open fire is part of the deal when on holiday. Sausage and hamburgers taste so much nicer when eating outside.

 

 

 

Saturday after skiing we went to kids after ski with Music together with Gunnard! All the kids seemed to love it, apart from Isak who was attached to me with a very serious look in his face.

Saturday night the whole place had a power blackout just when we were about to prepare dinner. That together with kids that for some reason had too much energy to be kept inside a cabin made us decide to go outside and cook dinner on the open fire as well. The kids had snowball fights and pushed each other over in the snow for over an hour but nobody got hurt or was crying, Amazing.

Not long after all the mums got together in one of the cabins for the yearly girls sauna. A great tradition and sometimes the only opportunity to have a good chat without children and men disturbing! 

Sunday and time to go home. Zara and I took the kids out around 9:30 and left the guys stay inside to clean. Both Adam and I still managed to do some skiing before it was time to head back to Luleå for a birthday party at Leos. Jakob somehow managed to stay awake in the car, play hard at Leos and then go to his last ice hockey training in the evening. He scored 6 goals and his team won the match so he was very happy but tired in the evening. I missed having my afternoon nap that I got used to getting on the weekend and felt more tired than the Children in the evening. We all Went to bed early after a great weekend away!

 

 

 

Haircut

 

Jakob really needed a haircut so last weekend I took the kids (and mum) for a drive to Ale to let Maggi cut Jakob's hair.

 

He is not very patient but Maggi is so it went well.

 

 

Isak said he wanted to come back one day and let Maggi cut his hair too. What's wrong with mummy doing it?

 

The result! I Think even Jakob himself liked it!

 

After some fika we went to visit the sheep, I took some photos but they seem to have disappeared. Any day now they will start giving birth so we have to come back to see the lambs in a few weeks.   

Very pregnant

Today I am 33 weeks and 3 Days so not so long to go now. I have started feeling a lot bigger and heavier in the last few days.

Jakob and Isak seem very excited about having Another brother or sister and quite often want to pat the belly and talk to the baby. Isak was really cute this morning. He was talking to the baby and I said to him that it is really good that he does that, because the baby can hear it and will remember the voice when he comes out. The Word for voice in Swedish is very similar to the Word breast, so when I said that Isak started smiling and pulled up his t-shirt to show me his breasts.

 

I am still a bit worried about what this baby will be like when he/she comes out. The movement in the belly has not changed at all, it is going on pretty much all the time and I just wonder if this baby ever sleeps? in a few weeks we will all know...

 

 

Finally!

 

After weeks of being extremly lose Jakobs big front tooth finally fell off a few Days ago when he was grocery shopping with Adam. Luckily they found it on the ground so he could put in a glass of water for the tooth fairy. The new tooth had already started coming through.

Melodifestivalen

After some resting we all watched Melodifestivalen where the Winner gets to compete for Sweden in the Eurovision song Contest. Jakob had Heard all the songs at dagis and also had a favourite and he and Isak were really in to it all for the first time.

Everyone tired

After a day in Storklinten we were all very tired. I stopped at the lolly shop and the pizza store on the way home to spare the small amount of energy I had left for unpacking the car and tidying up at home. Jakob and Isak were Amazing and looked after themselves.

 

Last day without daddy

Last Saturday was the last day the kids and I were by ourselves. Adam came home in the evening after a week in Scotland. My plan was to spend the day with the kids at the riding club and Watch showjumping, but the weather was so nice that I decided to go to Storklinten instead. I knew my brother with family was there and also mum so I would have plenty of help if needed.

 

 

Packing by myself took a bit longer than normally so by the time we got to Storklinten it was nearly lunchtime. Helena made waffles for everyone in the Caravan and the kids did some drawing while waiting.

 

After lunch we spent a few hour in the slope, mainly the kids slope where Jakob and Isak played with the bob. Maria and Andreas were also there and Jakob and Alice had a couple of runs on the skis together. I didn't Think Jakob would want to go by himself but he did, and even shared the lift with Alice.

The Amazing thing with snow is that there is so much fun you can do with it. While I was resting in a chair the kids played with toys in the snow and all of a sudden started a "snow war". It was Jakob and Moa against Anders. Isak didn't take any notice of what was going on around him, he just kept playing with a tractor.

 

 

 

 

Update!

 

Finally I am taking the time to update the blog after a long break. The main reason has been that I have a new laptop and haven't managed to download photos to it yet. It is very strange and I still don't know how to fix it. The other reason is that I have been very busy latley and just not had the energy to do it.

I am now 31 weeks pregnant and am lucky to feel pretty good! this baby seems to be a crazy one though because it is contstantly moving and kicking inside my belly. Isak was very calm both inside the belly and as a baby, Jakob was a bit more active in the belly and was when he came out as well. This one is nothing like the other two, so it will be interesting to see what sort of person this will be...

Jakob and Isak are looking forward to getting another brother and sister, so they say anyway, and Isak often talks to the baby (the belly) and Jakob asks lots of questions about what it is like for the baby in the belly, how the palcenta works etc.

Jakob is now 6 and is about to lose his third tooth. It is just hanging on so any time now he will have a big gap in his mouth again. When he lost his first two teeth the new ones had already started coming up behind the ones he was losing so it never looked so strange but I look forward to seeing him with a cute gap in his mouth very soon.

Isak has been to his 3years check up and Everything seems normal. After being late to start talking he is now talking a lot. Not always so easy to understand but Jakob is doing a great job translating for us at times. He tries hard to speak English to Adam and is doing a pretty good job. After seeing grandma and poppa during summer and later this year I am sure he will be even better. Jakob speaks fluent English and still always swap between Swedish and English depending on if he is talking to me or Adam.

Not long now before we have another child with in the family, the due date is 1st May. I am excited and scared at the same time but also really look forward to meeting him or her. I dream  a lot about giving birth and every time it is a boy. Will be interesting to see if it is. I Think it feels like a boy and I would be very surprised if it was a girl. This pregnancy feels very much like the other ones apart from the activity in the belly. Soon we will find out and I am now starting to prepare a bit for giving birth again mainly by reading books, going through what it was like with Jakob and Isak and Reading on the internet.

 

Storklinten

 

The days are getting longer and warmer and this time of the year is really great for sking! we all left in the morning to go to Storklinten for the day. Earlier in the pregnancy I would never have thought I would be skiing at 31 weeks but it is going to much better than expected. I got to start with trying my new slalom skis that Adam surprised me with a few weeks ago. I had 3 great runs in the big slope and even though I took it a bit easier than normally it felt great! both the skis and to be sking.

After my runs I went to get Jakob and we did a few runs together. He was much more confident today than he has been earlier in the season.

 

In between sking he played a lot with this board and with the bob.

 

 

Jakob had a couple of meltdowns in the middle of the day (not like him) and was sad and angry at the same time. I thought we would have to go home but he turned it all around and got happy again wanting to ski. Over all it was a great family day with both Jakob and Isak doing some great sking.

Isak's new bed!

 

After 3 years in a cot it was time for Isak to move in to a junior bed. He has never tried to climb  out of is bed and he has always loved sleeping in it, but the due date for the baby is getting closer and we thought the time had come for him to get a new bed. Adam found this one on Blocket and it turned out to be one of my collegues selling it! Isak was extremly happy climbing in to his new bed for the first time.

Valentines Day

 

Mormor surprised us all with some Heart shaped goodies left at the house for everyone on Valentine's Day.

 

Weekend away

Last weekend we were invited to Zara's parents cabin to stay with her and the family for a night.

 

 

We got there before lunch and everyone played outside for a while.

Zara and Micke packed lunch for everyone and took us on a snow mobile ride to a cabin in the forest.

The cabin was one of those free ones you can find up here in the north of Sweden that you can borrow for free.

Very cosy and basic and a nice Place to have lunch!

Kids birthday party!

This year we had a birthday party for the kids dagis friends at the same time. Isak had 2 friends over and Jakob had 8 friends over so we had 12 kids between 2-6 in the hosue at the same time...

Treasure hunt!

There was actually one more time at the party where the kids were still and quiet - at the end, after the treasure was find and they all got to eat lollies and watch the start of a movie.

 

Jakob and Isak were two tired but very happy boys when the party was over. Adam and I was pleased that everyone seemed to have a good time!
