Jessicas funeral

In December last year Jessica passed away from cancer, only 41 years old. I know Jessica from the riding club, and she also rented and apartment in my parents house many years ago after my grandmother who used to live in it died. Jessica also worked as a carer for my grandmother before she died so she knew my whole family. The funeral was very sad but also very beautiful.

Viktor all dressed up for the funeral. He must be taking after me a bit, liking being out and about doing stuff because as always when we are out he is happy.

After the ceremony we were invited to a buffe meal at a hotel in the city and later on 8 of us girls from the riding club who were friends with Jessica went out for dinner together. Only 2 of us live in Luleå today, the rest had travelled to Luleå for the funeral. We thought it was a good opportunity to get together and end a sad day with something fun! just wish that Jessica had been there with us...

Viktor started to cry when my meal came out but when I handed him over to Lisa so that I could cut up my meat, and eat with one hand while holding Viktor, he stopped crying straight away so Lisa very nicely held him so I could eat.

Viktor went in to a really deep sleep in Lisas arms so after a while she could put him in the pram and he slept there for the rest of the night.
When the other girls went to the boat to spend the rest of the night there Viktor and I went home after joining them for a while in the line up to get in. The evening was absolutley beautiful with the midnight sun and just over 20 degrees!

Viktor at work!

When I got pregnant I decided that I wanted to try to work a little bit, if possible, after the baby was born. My plan was to work no more than 8 hours a week and only to do it if I still felt like it after giving birth, and if the baby was healthy and happy to join me at work.

So far so good. I have been in to work around 2 days every week and Viktor has been perfect! when I am at home with him he cries a lot but when at work he is just happy awake or asleep (he sleeps a lot when I am there). I am really enjoying being able to continue working like this and I still feel like I have lots of time to do other things as well. It will probably be a bit more difficult when Viktor gets older and sleeps less but right now it is working really well!

Changing nappy after a meeting!

Mothes Day

Last Sunday I celebrated my first Mothers Day as a mother of 3!

Sleepy and calm boys in the morning.

Jakob looking after Viktor!

Isak being very happy about his new shorts!

Jakob relaxing in the tree and Isak jealous because he can't get up!

Anders and the family and mormor and Anneli came over for Mothers day dinner. The 4 cousins played like crazy and had lots of fun all evening.

Dinner time...

Big box all the way from Australia

One day this big big box got delievered from Adam's aunt in Australia! the kids were super excited and couldn't wait to open it.

There were lots of really nice presents for everyone in the family  in the box! very generous to send such nice presents.

Party at dagis

One evening last week we all went to the yearly bbq at dagis. Mormor also got to join us. This time it was Jakobs last party before he starts school so it felt very special.

We started with filling up with some food cooked on the bbq!

Then each family had to walk around the different stations that had been set up with problems to solve. Here Jakob is trying to find his own hair, eyes, nose and mouth. It was much harder than it looks.

Here Jakob is looking for letters in this bucket of porridge (?) that had to be put together to a word.

Isak looking at the map trying to work out where to go next.

Adam taking over from the kids trying to make a square out of different shapes.

The teachers had written a song that was dedicated to the 8 children that will start school after the summer holidays!

Before going home after a really nice party this special troll came with a basket with bags for the children. The troll was very shy and kept running away when the kids were screaming and it took a long time for the children to realise that they had to be quiet to get the bags.

Maria and the family...

Maria and Viktor

Maria, Andreas and the kids came over one evening to meet Viktor. They also gave him some really nice clothes.

The 3 boys

It is not easy to get all three boys in a photo together! Jakob and Isak love their little brother and often fight over who gets to hold him first, who gets to sit closest to him, they tell each other off for patting him too hard etc. But the important thing is that they really love him and they don't even get stressed or upset when he is crying a lot.

Viktor, Viktor and Viktor

After having Viktor in the family now for 3 weeks we are starting to see a bit of his personality. He has his own persoality for sure and he is very different from Isak who was such a calm and placid little baby. He reminds me more of Jakob who wasn't always happy and quiet as a baby. Viktor cries a lot mainly in the evenings before bedtime, and sometimes it take a long time to settle him for the night, but I think it is getting a little bit better (touch wood). Only a week ago he screamed when holding him but now he is often quiet as long as you hold him... Sometimes nothing seems to help though and he screams even if he has just been fed, had a sleep, a new nappy etc.

When Viktor is awake and happy he is just SO awake and looks at us with his big eyes!

Chilling out on the kitchen table...

Being so little Viktor still sleeps a lot. When at home it is often hard to settle him during the day and he can go a whole day with just having lots of short sleeps. Sometimes he has one or two really long sleeps as well which is much better!

He loves his car seat and that is where he has his best sleeps! he can go for hours and doesn't seem to take any notice of what's going on around him.

We have had some good days in the pram and some bad days. When I move him from the car to the pram he often continues to sleep in the pram, but if I put him there awake he normally doesn't like it at all. Sometimes he just screams like crazy and I end up carrying him on my shoulder ad pushing the pram with one hand.

It is amazing how babies can be so asleep sometimes, and how hard it is to get them to sleep other times.

Zara

Zara and Lykke finally get to cuddle the little baby that was in my belly for SO long!

Maggi meeting Viktor for the first time...

As Jakob and Isak loooove playing all sorts of games they quickly involve new visitors in something, here they are winning easily over mormor and Maggi in memory.

The big boys drawing in the books they got from Maggi!

The house is quiet when Viktor sleeps...

Elias visiting

A couple of weeks ago Karin, Andreas and cute Elias came to visit and to meet Viktor. Viktor slept the whole time they were here so they didn't see much of him, but we had a nice afternoon playing mainly outside and especially Jakob was so happy to have Andreas to play sport with!

I think Andreas is the only adult I know that has almost as much energy as Jakob. They played non stop for nearly 2 hours (you can see them in action in the background). I felt tired just watching them.
Elias loved the sandpit, I think he has to come back soon for another play!

Busy busy

When Viktor was only about a week old Jakob had 2 friends from dagis visiting. Viktor was quite unhappy so I had to feed him as I was cooking and at the same time make sure that all the other boys were happy.

Luckily the big boys were playing nicley together so I survived...
