Cute boys

Jakob adores Isak and Isak adores Jakob. Jakob plays really hard with Isak but most of the time he likes it so it is hard trying to tell him to take it easy. For example Jakob often hits Isak's belly very hard, but Isak just giggles, so what do you do?
Yesterday Jakob was having a snack on the couch and Isak was on the floor and I went to the office. All of a sudden without making much noise, Jakob had pulled Isak in his feet on the floor all the way to the office! Isak had a big smile on his face when they reached their final destination: the office.

Tired Jakob

The other night Jakob all of a sudden got very tired when we were having dinner. He quietly got off his chair and put his head on a surprised Isak and fell asleep!! not for long though since Isak started to pinch his face and pull his hair.

The big wedding!!

Saturday 17th of June the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and her Daniel finally got married. I really wanted to watch the ceremony but Adam worked all day and trying to watch tv with two kids is not so easy. Karin and Andreas helped me to slove the "problem". After taking the kids to the riding club in the morning they came over in the afternoon spend some time with us.
Jakob quickly became best friends with Andreas who he realised was a much better play mate than mummy.

Andreas and Jakob played non stop for over two hours!! they played floor ball, football, with cars and tractors etc etc. Jakob was in play-heaven. And I was in heaven too watching the cute couple get married. Karin and I took turns holding Isak when he was awake.

Victoria had a beatuiful wedding dress and they looked very happy together. Isak did very well too and slept between 3.15 until nearly 5pm (the ceremony started at 3.30).

Adam came home in time for dinner (Karin and Andreas cooked) and when the kids went to bed we watched parts of the wedding dinner. It was a bit slow at times but still fun to look at all the dresses and see how everyone was acting. I went to bed just after Daniel's dads speech but missed Daniel's speech to Victoria.

Big boots!

Jakob has always (like most kids I guess) liked trying on different shoes and the other night he walked around with Adam's gum boots and thought it was great fun.
Not easy since the boots covered his whole legs.

I think I would fall over too if I tried walking in Adam's shoes...

Big day!

At 6am this morning I woke up hearing Jakob call out: Mummy, mummy! I quickly and quietly left the bedroom and went in to Jakob's room. The first thing he said when I came in was: What time is Linus coming?

Linus is Jakob's best friend at dagis. According to the carers they play really well together and have lots of fun. Last week was Linus last week before his summer holiday so this week Jakob has had to play with other kids. Anyway, earlier in the week I contacted Linus mum and asked them to come over to play today. I don't know her very well but they live close to us and it would be great if Jakob and Linus could play a bit during summer. When I told Jakob the other day that Linus was going to come over he got SO excited and has talked about it constantly since I told him. I am not lying when I say he has asked me about 200 times this morning when Linus is going to come. I have tried to explain it in different ways like in 3 hours, in 80 minutes, after lunch, after you have played lots by yourself and had something to eat and then rest for a bit and so on... About 40 minutes before he was due to come Jakob started waiting in front of the house and only came in every two minutes to ask: Mummy when is Linus coming? When he finally arrived the two boys looked so happy but also a bit nervous for about 10 seconds before I told them to run to the back of the house and start playing. So they did and they played and giggled and kicked balls and played with cars and ate ice cream and watched a dvd and ran around the house and played on the pool table. When it was time to leave Linus was in tears and did not want to go home. Jakob crashed on the couch after he left and was nearly impossible to wake up. He was very grumpy in the evening and kept saying that he wanted Linus to come back.

Overall it was a very special day for Jakob, to have his own friend visiting for the first time. I got tears in my eyes when I saw how happy and excited he was and how fun they had together.

Haircut and more!

Today I have been home cleaning all day when Jakob was at dagis. I can't believe how dirty the house gets so quickly with 2 kids and 2 messy adults! Later in the afternoon mum and dad and also Maggi came over. Maggi cut Jakob's hair and did a great job! Not so easy when Jakob doesn't want to keep his head still. He sits still, but just moves his head around all the time.

My plan was to try to get a photo of mum and dad and the kids. I gave mum, dad and Jakob a simple instruction: Just focus on smiling and looking at the camera. Maggis instruction was to try to get Isak to smile. It didn't start very well as you can see...

This could have been a nice one if mum had just looked at the camera.

This time it was dad not doing his job.

Finally I got one where they all looked at me apart from Isak who refused to smile.

Isak update

Isak caught Jakob's cold and has had a runny nose and been coughing a bit the last week or so. Apart from that he has been very good and the runny nose doesn't stop him from eating and sleeping. The last few nights he has had his first feed around 2-2.30 in the morning (goes to bed at 7pm) and a second feed around 5-6 in the morning. After the second feed he has been going back to sleep until about 7.30! Jakob on the other hand had been waking up around 6 quite a few mornings but today he slept until 7.20, heaven!!!!

Playing!

Monday this week dad had an appointment at the hospital in Gällivare to have another brain scan. Gällivare is about 3 hours drive away and Anders, my brother took him there. The result will come in a week or two so we still don't know what the tumour looks like right now.

That day Jakob, Isak and I went to the riding club in the morning and then to visit mum who was home by herself. She looked after Isak when Jakob and I went to a playground and also took a walk to the trainstation to look at the trains.

Home with two kids!

Adam is very busy at work at the moment so I spend a lot of time by myself with the kids. I think it is going really well, they both go to bed easily around 7pm which makes life easy and they both sleep well at night. Jakob still goes to day care 3 days a week, 5 hours a day and during those hours I get a lot done at home or I go and see friends or do something fun. I see my parents a lot too and mum helps a lot with the kids so that makes life easier.
Jakob can be very challenging and also very funny. Yesterday he came to me in the kitchen and said: Mummy I need an adult to be with me and help me with something. I followed him to his room and he showed me that he wanted me to hold the chair on the table when he climbed up to the top bed. Him and Alice did the same thing a while ago and one of them fell down. We told them not to do it again unless there is an adult in the room. I was VERY surprised that he remembered and actually asked me to come. Must have been because he was a bit scared.

Yesterday I was in another room and heard Jakob saying something about A pillow on Isak... It made me a bit worried so I quickly went in to the living room and found Jakob on top of a giggling Isak. Someone might wonder why I went to get the camera before asking Jakob to get down...

Most of the time Jakob is very loving to Isak even though I am starting to see a change. Isak is kicking a lot with his legs now and he pinches everything or everyone who is close to his hands and Jakob is starting to get a bit frustrated with that.

Weekend!

After going to bed late last night Jakob slept in until 7.30 this morning. Isak who normally sleeps until about 7 decided that it was time to get up at 6am. Adam got to stay in bed for a couple of hours and when he got up it was time for me to go to bed again. Very nice!
The rest of the morning I spent mainly with Jakob. It is SO nice to play with him when I can give 100% to just him without having to think too much about Isak. Jakob and I went grocery shopping together, went for a bike ride around the block, played with blocks in his room. I really enjoyed spending some quality time with him.
In the afternoon Isak spent some time with my parents so I could go shopping by myself. It is amazing how relaxing it is and how efficient I am without walking around with a pram. Nice to get that free time. After some shopping I went back to mum and dad and Jakob joined us a bit later. Adam has a boys dinner on tonight so the kids and I had dinner with mum and dad before we went home to get ready for bed. Jakob's cold is much better so I hope he will be over it in the next couple of days.

Friday night bbq

Last night we were invited to Maria's for dinner. I walked over with the kids and Adam joined later straight from work. Andreas took the kids (apart from Isak) outside for a play and it was so nice to sit down for a cup of tea, some lollies and just a few quiet moments with Maria. Jakob was home from dagis Thursday because of a cold and he has been quite challening the last couple of days. Not too bad, just needs my attention every minute and is not very patient so I have to be more switched on than normally.
When Jakob is fun and demanding at the same time Isak is a little angel who just smiles and seems pretty happy with everything going on around him.

Isak (and me too) has cought Jakob's cold and has a runny nose and coughs a bit. Hasn't really affected him much at this stage, hope it doesn't get any worse.

Adam giving Andrea's some tips on his golf swing when the kids are playing outside in the evening sun about 9 pm at night.

Jakob and Alice had a great night together, I was very surprised since Jakob was both tired and a bit sick and Alice also had a cold. They played and played and watched some tv until we left around 10pm.

Friday morning

Yesterday morning we met up with Helena and the kids at our new favourite place. We spent a few hourse there eating waffles and ice cream etc and enjoying the sunshine. Helena took Moa and Jakob to see the pigs and somehow she got Jakob to walk like this holding on to the pram. That never works for me, hmmm, I must be doing something very wrong...

Lucas is cute as always and if you don't watch him he puts his little fingers inside Isak's mouth and eyes.

Proud big brother!

The other night I took Jakob and Isak out to blow bubbles with Jakob. I wanted to put Isak in the pram and asked Jakob to hold Isak while I was lifting the pram out of the car. Jakob was so happy to help and get to hold his little brother. A man was riding a bike past our house and Jakob yelled out: Hello! Look I am holding my little brother!! He said in the a way as if he was so proud of himself and wanted to show the whole world what he was doing.

Jakob loooooves chasing bubbles and giggled and laughed the whole time running around like crazy.

Believe it or not...

Last year I didn't plant any flowers at all but this year I promised myself to buy some pots and plants. I am very proud to say that today was the day when I bought it all and planted them all, and I actually quite enjoyed it!! I know absolutley nothing about plants but I got some good help in the shop (I just said what colours I wanted and that they had to be easy to look after) and I am really happy with the result. No I just have to make sure I look after them so that they will survive the summer.
Jakob wanted to help of course even though he lost interest after a while. Watering them at the end was the best part of it all. This is at the front of the house.

And this is at the back. Yes the pots look exactly the same. It was so hard for me to make a decision on which pots to buy so when I finally made my mind up I bought the same for both the back and the front of the house.

Jakob playing with Isak just before bedtime. Isak loves when Jakob plays with him but the games are becoming more and more rough. I am just waiting for an accident to happen, have to keep an eye at the boys at all times.

Isak Isak and more Isak

Lots of people told me that they took lots of photos of the first child but not so many of the second. That hasn't happened to me, I can't help myself and the camera is more or less attached to me all day long.
This is the third time ever Isak is on his belly. Since he is nearly rolling over from back to belly I thought I should start putting him on his belly at times so he gets used to it.

Tired and a bit sick...

Jakob has a cold and on top of that he has woken up before 6 every morning for the last 4 days. Last night he also woke up at midnight with growing pains in his leg. I had just gone to sleep when he came in to our bedroom. I took him back to his bed and massaged his legs. He was very unsettled for while before he finally went back to sleep. Needless to say that he was a very tired boy when I picked him up from dagis today. He fell asleep in the car and when I tried to wake him up 30min later it was nearly impossible. As soon as I put him down he tried to go back to sleep. I think I will keep him home tomorrow unless he is feeling much better in the morning.
Isak wriggling his way out to the floor and almost always happy!

Learning new things!

Isak is working hard on his rolling technique and he is not far from getting around on his own.
He is also getting to know his hands and is very fascinated by them. In this photo one hand was stuck in his clothes and trying to work out how to get it out kept him busy for at least 15 minutes.

Cradle cap

The other day it was Jakobs turn to go through the Cradle cap treatment. I don't know why I have waited so long to do it!! he did really well and I think I got rid of most of it.

Start of the week

Maria and the kids came over Monday morning to play.
Only a couple of minutes after this picture Jakob had a tantrum because his ice block split in to two pieces. I tried to talk to him without success and he just kept crying, until the same happened with Alices ice block. Within seconds he was happy again.

Mum and dad came over in the afternoon since mum needed to clean their car. I took the opportunity to go grocery shopping with Jakob while they looked after Isak. It is nice to do something just Jakob and me at times, without Isak.
