Every time we wanted a coffe or something to eat we managed to find really great cafes, something that sometimes can be impossible. This one was in the old town and had great cakes!

Saturday night

Dinner Saturday night was booked at an Italian restaurant called La Famiglia recommended by Stina. My plan to have Isak asleep worked well, he fell asleep in the stroller walking to the restaurant and stayed asleep the whole night until about 10.30 when we were just about to pay the bill. I kept him up for a while when we got back to the hotel room before putting him down again, hoping that it would make him sleep longer the next morning. It didn't work :-(

Friday night at Grill

Marie and Emma couldn't get to Stockholm until about 10pm so Karin, Isak and I had dinner by ourselves at a really great restaurant called Grill. We were lucky to get a table there at 5.30 which worked well for us since Isak would still be awake. We were told that prams were not allowed in the eating area so going there after Isak's bedtime would not have worked.

Even though it would have been 10 times more relaxing to have dinner without Isak he was happy and calm throughout the whole dinner.

This is Karin's meal, not quite sure what she had but it all both looked good and tasted great. The staff was friendly and the interior was great. A good choice of restaurant that I can recommend!

Stockholm Day 1

Friday last week Isak and I went to the airport in the morning to get ready for Isak's first flight. We were going to Stockholm to meet up with Karin, Emma and Marie my friends from Australia. They are all Swedish but we met in Adelaide and used to hang out a lot while living there. Now we are all back in Sweden and decided to get together in Stockholm for a weekend.

I wasn't really nervous travelling with Isak since he is such a calm baby but you never know. He was suffering from a cold and take offs and landings can be quite painful if you are not feeling well. No problems though, he was really happy the first half of the flight (I breast fed him during take off) and fell asleep the second half. I am extremly bad at packing (always bring too much) so getting all the luggage from the airport to the bus and off the bus etc is much harder than looking after Isak.

Karin who is 34 weeks pregnant met me in the city and after dropping the bags off at the hotel we had lunch.

After lunch we walked to Söder a really nice part of Stockholm. The main reason was that I wanted to go to a horse store to spend my birthday money. The man working there was a bit crazy but very nice and ended up selling me clothes half price that shouldn't have been on sale at all.

Stockholm

Tomorrow at 10.15 Isak and I will fly to Stockholm to spend the weekend with Karin, Emma and Marie, friends that I met in Adelaide. I am really excited but a bit worried about how it will go having Isak with us. He has a bit of a cold and is a bit unhappy right now but hopefully he will start feeling better soon. If he is still a bit sick I hope he will just enjoy chilling out in the stroller during the days. The flight I don't worry about at all. Maybe because it is such a short one. Even though it would be horrible if he cried the whole way it is still just over an hour and nothing like flying to Australia.
Better go through my bags for tomorrow and go to bed soon so I am set for a big day tomorrow. Stockholm here we come!!

Time with Jakob

Adam had the day off today so I spent most of the afternoon with Jakob and Adam took care of Isak. I picked up Jakob from dagis by bike and he loved it! After a snack I took him for a little walk in the forest close to where we live. Jakob took my hand (doesn't happen very often) and started saying that it was boring to walk in the forest. After a while we turned around and started walking back again and then he asked: Mummy where are the bears? I said there are no bears right here so you don't need to be scared. When I said that he changed completley and got really excited about being in the forest. Poor think was scared that he would meet a bear!

New house!

Jens bought his grandmothers house recently and is now renovating the whole house. Jakob and I went there tonight for a quick tour of the house. There is a lot of work to do in there which makes Adam's staircase project seem like nothing, but I am sure the end result will be great and the best of all, it is only minutes away from us!!

Adam started a new project this week. He has been sanding and painting the staircase. We have different views on what to priorities around the house right now and I can't say that I have been all that excited about his new project. Anyway, Adam has really enjoyed doing it and I know it will look really nice when it is finished so if Adam is happy, I am happy :-)

The week!

Jakob and Isak have both had a cold all week and still have runny noses and coughing a bit.
Tuesday Isak and I spent the day with dad when Jakob was at dagis . Mum went out lingon berry picking with her friend Anneli so it was nice for me to spend some time with dad (even though he slept through most of it). Mum didn't find hardly any berries and managed to lose her glasses in the forrest so her day wasn't so successful even though I think she enjoyed getting out of the apartment a bit.

Wednesday I had lunch with Sigrid in the city. Isak was a bit cranky. I am not used to him being like that. Maybe he is not feeling so well.

Jakob is still playing very rough games with Isak and most of the time Isak loves it.

Leos

Monday seems very long ago but all I can remember from the day is that we went to Leos with Anders, Moa and Lucas. For a couple of hours in the middle of the day there were no other visitors there!! left around 2pm and spent a bit of time outside in the afternoon. The weather was great!

Today

After Isaks great night Friday night I was hoping for another good one but no, we were back to normal again last night with a feed at 1.30 and one at 5.30. The positive was that he went back to sleep after the 5.30 feed. Jakob woke up early but Adam got up with him and I had a nice sleep in and later in the morning we swapped and Adam went back to bed. I think it is great when we do that! I love getting some extra time in bed in the mornings especially after having broken sleeps for the last year.

I cleaned Jakob's room this morning and it was disgusting. Not a nice experience but now when it is so clean I almost feel like playing with cars in there! In the afternoon I had a much needed break from home and had a coffee with Stina, bought a couple of things in the city, went to see mum and dad and did some grocery shopping.

Jakob now wants to hold and also carry Isak a lot. He does it well but I don't trust him at all. It wouldn't surprise me if he just dropped Isak if someone said something like: lets run to the other side of the house!

Visiting mormor and morfar

Last night Isak and I went for a drive to see mormor and morfar. Maggi was also there staying for the night.

Jakob horse riding

Once a month children can try horse riding at the riding club and yesterday we took Jakob there for a try. He really likes it and wanted to ride all three horses. I don't have to walk next to him anymore, he is really comfortable in the saddle and most importantly not scared at all.

Outdoor activities!

Saturday morning we all went to Udden where we also met up with my brother and his family. It was a great morning but a bit chilly.

An organisation that runs lots of outdoor activities for adults and children were there presenting themselves and they sold hot dogs and coffee.

Jakob found this amazing climbing thing and he just loved it! he keeps talking about that he wants to go back.

Isak just followed us in his stroller, had a little sleep and watched the rest of us playing games.

Saturday morning

Adam got home from work after midnight Friday night. Isak and Jakob went to bed easily and I had a quiet night by myself. At 2 am Jakob woke up and I went in to his room and fell asleep in his bed. 4am I went back and 20 min later he came in again! Isak woke up and I had to feed him so Adam had to take Jakob back to bed. Isak had his best night ever and slept from 7pm until Jakob woke him up just 4.20, not bad!
I got up with the kids in the morning and we had a really nice time together.


Isak's hair is getting so long, I have to comb it to the side so it stays out of his face. People who don't know him think that he is a girl!

Friday night

Friday was a beautiful sunny but fresh autumn day. After Moa left in the afternoon we went out playing together. Isak chilled out in the pram and Jakob played and played and played. Isak had a funny day with hardly no sleep. His second tooth has popped up, maybe that's what keeps him awake.

Berries in the garden

There are some berries growing in our garden. Red currants and gooseberries. Last year mum picked the red currants but this year I haven't done anything with them. Jakob and I only pick them to eat when we are playing outside. They tast so nice! And I forgot, there are also rasberries in the middle of the red currant bush. Only a very very small plant, I think Jakob has found about 5 rasberries this summer.

Jakob and Moa

My brother has now taken over the responsibility for Moa and Lucas and is on parental leave and Helena has started working again. Jakob, Isak and I met up with them at the singing (it has started again after a summer break) and I think Jakob really enjoyed being back. He asked for his favourite song and looked so proud when the lady who sings and plays the guitar told everyone that Jakob had made a wish for this song. After the singing we went to McDonalds and I remember now why we stopped going there for lunch and started getting take away to someones house before the summer break. Jakob just goes crazy and it is nearly impossible to get him to sit down and eat his meal or to play in the playroom instead of running around the restaurant. After lunch Moa came to our house by herself to play for a while and Anders and Lucas joined later.
