Another photo of the boys

The Swedish National Day

Monday this week was the Swedish National Day. I have never really celebrated it apart from when living in Australia and I remember going to Ikea for "fika" on the day. The kids got dressed in blue and yellow and Jakob got to go out in the afternoon with Maggi and mormor to some activities at Hägnan.

Stina and Lova came over in the morning for a play.

Brothers

More about the subject Isak's eating habits... He wants to do everything that Jakob does and that includes eating. If Jakob is eating on the couch he wants to sit there too. And he wants a tea towel if Jakob has one and a fork (not a spoon) if Jakob is eating with a fork. I guess it is a positive and he will learn some things much faster because of his brother.

Jakob thinks it is great that Isak wants to be like him so he is playing all sorts of games with Isak.

Isak and food

Not sure what to say about Isak and his food intake. He has always been a good eater but things are changing and even though he doesn't speak very much he is very good at telling us what he wants and what he doesn't want. Often it is impossible to give him porridge, I can sometimes trick him into eating it but if he can see anything else around him that could be nicer, or if Jakob is playing around him he just throws the spoon on the floor and turns the bowl upside down.
Every time I manage to get him into the highchair I feel I am on the right track because often I can't even get him to sit down properly.

An afternoon with friends...

Adam had to work all weekend but got home early on Sunday afternoon. When he got up we went straight to Zara's. We walked down to the beach which is just a few minutes walk from their house. Isak couldn't wait for the sausage to be cooked so he got started before everyone else.
Micke getting the fire ready.

For some reason I have really started to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer much more often than I used to. It might be that I am still just enjoying that I am not pregnant or breast feeding and actually have choice.

After a nice dinner we had some cupcakes made by Zara!

The slide!

After trying really hard for a few days Isak can finally climb up and go down the slide by himself.
He was veeery happy with himself when he finally managed to do it without my help. Just as happy as I was.

Singing

Zara had last Friday off so we went to baby singing together like in the old days. I got there early with the kids and we had the place to ourselves for half an hour before people started dropping in. Jakob played with one of the girls working there and Isak didn't want to stop eating.
After singing we bought some take away and had lunch at our place in the nice weather.

Jakob and Finn playing

Playing memory with Finn, Lykke and a girl who lives on the street.

Ale

Last weekend was a long weekend with a public holiday on Thursday and another one on Monday. One afternoon we went to Ale. Jakob really likes it there, especially when he gets to have a ride on the four wheeler. Luckily Mikael was there and took him for ride.
Isak is finally starting to walk really well outside. Inside is no problem but he has been a bit unstable outside.

On the way home we stopped at Karin and Andreas house to say hello and to see what it looks like in summer time. They bought the house late last year and we have only seen it when covered in snow so it was great to finally see the swimming pool and all the green!

Sleep over at mormors

Today after dagis I took Jakob to mormor for a sleep over. He was very excited about going there by himself without Isak. I spoke to mum after he went to sleep tonight and they have had a very nice evening. Picnic in the park, blowing bubbles outside, making pancakes, having a bath etc etc.
I have had a nice afternoon with Isak even though I have a cold and I think Isak might be getting it too because he wanted to be in my arms the whole time. Took him to the riding club for an hour where he could relax in the stroller. Adam came home early for a change and I have to say it felt a bit strange to not have Jakob in the house.

Dagis

Today I had a meeting with one of the carers at dagis about how Jakob is doing at dagis. She had almost only positive things to say which of course is nice to hear, even though I really hope that they would let me know if there were any problems. She said that he is very calm, listens well, is very caring with the other children and a "good friend". He sometimes helps the smaller children and "lets" them play with him even though he prefers to be with his mates that he plays with all the time. There are 4 boys that hang out all the time and she said that Jakob is never involved in any conflicts. I find it a bit hard to believe... I guess now when he only goes 3 days a week and only 5 hours a day he is there for such a short time that he never gets really tired. That must make it easier...

Best friends

Earlier this week Jakob's friend from dagis (Linus) was here playing all day.

Jakob and Linus played outside for nearly 3 hours!! when I managed to get them to come in to relax a bit Jakob was still on a high wanting to run and play but Linus wanted to take it esasy and watch tv. That was the only time in 6 hours they didn't want to do the same thing.

Having a drink and a chat :-)

Jakob and Lucas

Jakob and Lucas playing together...

Bbq at dagis!

One night last week we had the yearly summer bbq at dagis. Adam had to work so mormor was his stand in. We started with eating...
And moved on to activities....

Jakob with Tuva and Eddie. All the boys seem to be in love with 6 years old Tuva. They talk about her a lot but also gets shy when she is around.

Isak also loves dagis...

The play area at dagis is really nice I think. Good size with lots of things to play with.

All the kids singing for the parents and brothers and sisters. Isak loved watching them!

Jakob getting his medal for participating in the weekly walk around the block.

Isak seems to like sweets just as much as I do.... not good for him....

Treasure hunt is about to start! the last activity that ended a really nice evening.

Dinner with friends

Last weekend we were invited to some friends for dinner. We were 5 families and of course lots of kids.
Isak hanging out with Lykke and trying to find lollies on the floor that he is not allowed to eat...

The kids

I can never get enough of watching the kids when they play together. Jakob can get really angry with Isak at times but they also have lots of fun together.

The other day Jakob called out and said: Mummy, come and look, Isak just crawled up on the couch and wanted to sit like this!
