For a long time now I have thoguht about spending some time at childcare with Jakob and Isak before Jakob starts school. They spend such a big part of their week there and all I see is a little bit when I drop them off and pick them up and I don't even do that very often (Adam does it most Days).
Anyway, today was the day when I finally did it! I stayed with Jakob and Isak from just after 8 in the morning until just after 12 and had a great time!
After some morning play with the other Children I joined Jakob and Isak for breakfast. They love their porridge.
Straight after breakfast some of the big kids were going for their weekly walk. Jakob really wanted med to come but since they walk for about 40 minutes and I wasn't quite up for that I turned around after about 10 minutes.
When the big kids were out walking the little ones were having group activity. The main focus for today was to name the group. There were three suggestions, the water, the lion or the tiger group and each Child got to vote. Isak voted on the Lion group. A few children were home today so they couldn't finish it all today.
After the voting they discussed
and looked at different types of milk cartons and tried to guess which shape could hold the most amount of milk or water.
After guessing we all Went in to the water room and the Children got to try it by pouring water in to each carton. Not quite sure if Isak understood it all but he loved playing with the water!
After playing different games Isak did some cleaning.
While I was playing with Isak inside Jakob played outside after his walk but half an hour Before lunch he came in for some numbers games. The big Children got together and started by talking about people in a boat. There were ten people, 6 of them sat in the boat, and how many were left?
3 fell in the water, how many was left in the boat? and so on... Jakob loooves numbers so for him it was an easy game to play.
The next game was to listen to one of the carers playing on a drum and hold up a sign with the number of hits she did on the drum.
The last part of the game was to put your hand in a bag and pick up a wooden number and try to guess what number it was by only touching it. That was pretty hard.
After a great morning I joined Jakob and some of the big kids for lunch, Salmon soup.
Isak didn't seem to mind that I sat with Jakob and not with him.
Just Before I left Jakob was right in to drawing with some friends. He was really happy and told me that it had been great to have me there!
