Birthday celebrations for Jakob and Isak are over for this time. I can't believe that my little boys are growing up so fast. Jakob is now 7 and Isak is 4. Last weekend Jakob had his birthday party and had invited all the boys in his class. 3 told us when handing out the invitations that they couldn't make it and 3 had to cancel the same day because of sickness. Even though his best friends weren't there the party went well and Jakob was a very happy boy with a 39,5 degrees temperature in the evening... He has been home from school all week, don't know if that has ever happened Before.
Wednesday was Isaks birthday and we celebrated in the morning with presents and after dagis with mormors meatballs and some ice Cream. Yesterday he had his first birthday party ever with friends from dagis (and cousin Lucas). Today we had the family over to celebrate both kids so Anders, Åsa and Andreas with families and of course mormor and Maggie were here.
It has been great fun celebrating the boys but I am now over preparing parties and look forward to a weekend without spending hours preparing :-)
So what has been happening in the last few weeks? I am enjoying working again but also love having every Tuesday off with Viktor and Isak. A couple of Tuesdays Jakob has been sick so I have had the Three of them all to myself. It has been nice and feels very special having a day off in the middle of the week. Working 4 Days a week is something I could continue to do for a long time I Think...
I never thought this day would come, but now it has finally happened. Viktor slept through the night last nigth! Since we got back from Australia I have fed him 2 times a night every nigth, once around midnight and once around 4-4:30. A few nights ago he started sleeping past the second feed and last night he didn't Wake up until 5:40! I couldn't Believe it. I fed him and he Went back to sleep until 8. I am very happy!
After years of not being able to ride I am finally trying to take it up again. I have ridden once and it was SO fun and my plan is to try to take riding lessons once a week. I will do it at 9:15 Wednesday nights so it won't even effect the family! Very exciting and something that I have missed a lot.
Jakob has not learnt to read or write yet and I have been really bad at Reading to him and practicing with him. I made a decision a while ago to make an effort to change that so we now try to go to the library quite often and I also read to him in the evenings (not every night). I have just started Reading Harry Potter and it is much more fun than Reading books for smaller Children. That will help me to continue to do it.
One of my goals in the next few weeks is to start practicing skiing with Isak. He seems really excited and keeps asking me when we are going to go skiing. I Think I will go with him by myself to start with so I can really focus on helping him. I also want to do some skiing by myself! I have bought a back protection and Adam bought me new slalom skiis last year so I am ready to hit the hills!
Jakob is now playing innebandy once a week and Friday night he had his first match. All of us were there to Watch and it was so much fun watching him.
Overall all the Children are really well. I miss Thailand and spending all that time together all of us from morning til night, but Life at home is also pretty good.
Last but not least, I have booked a Girls weekend to Barcelona in May! Karin, Marie and Emma, my girlfriends that I met when living in Adelaide, and now all live in different parts of Sweden were all for it and from suggesting it to booking only took a few Days. I am very impressed and happy to have spontaneous and flexible Girls who value our friendship. I have never been to Barcelona Before and can't wait to go! And I am going to enjoy having a glass of wine or two again after all these years of being pregnant and breastfeeding!
As soon as i can find my camera (it is hidden somewhere in the house) I will post some photos again.
